The Seven Second Sales Speech for Meeting and Event Planners

Monday, August 24th, 2009

Serving as a business meeting planner in today’s economy and governmental intervention into business can connote that you could appear arranged to put up your photon shields rather than answer this. In view of the fact that photon shields do not exist yet, you may possibly have to discover a original manner of responding to this question so that you do not get the evil eye for confessing you are a conference planner. Here are various ideas to spell out to associates what you organize without getting their hackles up and yourself down.

The Synopsis Speech

You can inform people what you do in just a few seconds, and tell them also that you are not the enemy. A number of people seem to feel that meeting planners are currently an additional expense that companies must not be paying for. Attempt a few of these replies by saying them to yourself in a mirror, and modify whatever you need to so that they work exceptionally well for you and does not sound rehearsed.

‘I help businesses stay within government meeting regulations by planning their events.’

‘I help the government and businesses work together to save money on meetings so they don’t have to sacrifice value and their bottom lines.’

‘I motivate a company’s employees by providing training, technology sharing sessions, and programs.’

‘I help companies improve their bottom lines by providing motivational and training sessions that are well within government guidelines.’

Contingent on the type of planning you perform, you can modify these sentences and polish them particularly for your requirements. Even if you may possibly feel as if you should not have to do this, it is in reality excellent practice in support of your elevator promo speeches and sales pitch. In actuality, the demands the federal government has placed on your chosen work is like a nugget in the tide–it is a bit rough at times, but you will come out shining.

Exploring the Opportunities for Starting a Franchise

Sunday, July 19th, 2009

There are a million ways to earn a living. Everyone must decide: am I the kind of person who likes to be directed and shown what to do? Or am I the kind of person who likes to call the shots, to sink or swim as a result of my own ingenuity? If you are the kind of person who wants to drive the ship, while maintaining the freedom to enjoy your life, a franchise business may be right for you.

How does one define a franchise? Maybe the best way is to consider it an individual entity of a successful corporation, or like the branch of a durable tree. By opening a franchise business, you latch onto a working concept and try to make it work better in your community, with the help and foresight of a company that’s done it all over the place.

When you start out, you will have to pay for the rights to run your version of this business, as the franchisee. As the business moves along, you pay periodic fees to your franchisor, the company that put you in business.

The concept is so appealing because it is the embodiment of one word: independence. By stating your own franchise, you put yourself at the head of the operation.

Has the prototypical work schedule made you drag your feet? When you take on a franchise business, you call the shots, setting up schedules and making meetings for as early or as late as you like.

Are you certain the standard work policies are draining most employees in the country? Use your creativity to get the most out of your workforce; move your business forward in the process.

Do you consider yourself a natural leader, a CEO without the business? By getting involved in a franchise business, you can test your mettle in the business world without your own business plan. By getting involved in a successful operation, you know you have a quality product. Nonetheless, that concept is delivered according to your style.

It’s very much like a singer who records the song of a classic composer. You will make royalty payments over time to the creator, but it will be your face and style that the community grows to love. Your operation will say as much about you as the company’s overall reputation.

One way to see the options on the table is just taking a drive through the center of town. You’ll see a variety of possibilities: automotive chains; fitness centers; restaurants; cleaning companies; even financial services.

Thinking deeply about your special skill set is the way to begin. If preparing food and presenting it beautifully is your specialty, restaurants are an excellent place to start. If you are a hands-on person, someone who likes to renovate and enhance, then a cleaning service franchise would be perfect.

Besides driving around and looking for ideas, check the internet for examples of winning franchises. There are many opportunities online. The next great moment in your life just might be a few clicks on the computer away.

Engineer Resume Basics

Sunday, June 21st, 2009

Engineering resume writing isnt like traditional resume writing. Engineers are subject to much higher standards and must thus deliver a more professional and focused resume to employers in order to meet their hiring requirements. There are a couple differences between engineering resumes and other resumes, but once youre aware of them, it shouldnt be too hard to prepare your resume.

An engineer resume should include a technical qualifications section. This will show the hiring manager what technical skills you have that make you the right candidate for the position. This section should be placed at the top of your resume, right under your contact information, in place of the objective.

Focus on what is relevant. If you have skills that make you more qualified, these need to be included. Use bold fonts and bullet lists to emphasize particular qualifications including: technical certifications, networking, internet proficiency/applications and database programming. In the engineering world, these things draw immediate attention to your resume and should be highlighted.

Place a Career Summary before you list your experience. This will allow you to emphasize other relevant skills and add a certain flair to your resume. It will also allow the hiring manager to see immediately that you are qualified. Anything that will quickly catch the attention of the reader will make your resume better.

Include keywords from the job announcement. By adding them to your resume, you will grab the attention of the reader. They know what theyre looking for and if you show them in their own words, theyll be more inclined to read the rest of your resume. This also shows that you pay attention to detail, which is a great skill to showcase anyway.

An engineering resume does not follow a chronological format, unless that is the best way to show your skills. Usually, an engineer resume follows a functional format. This means that you list the most relevant skills and accomplishments first and follow with the less important information. While both format work, the chronological format isnt the best. Ultimately, your resume needs to be written in a way that will best convey your qualifications to do the job at hand.

Writing an engineering resume isnt too complicated. If you keep these things in mind, it should be simple. Also, there are plenty of sample resumes available for free, if youd like to see how an engineer resume look like.

If you have tried and failed at engineering resume writing, you might want to consider looking into a professional engineering resume writing service. They have more experience than you and are aware of the latest hiring guidelines.

Recession Proof Jobs.

Wednesday, May 27th, 2009

There are plenty of recession proof jobs out there. Most need a special skill, products, or services that is in need no matter what condition the economy reaches. There is always the option of owning a business as millions do this to beat the economy crunch. Of course you must have a product, service, or a specialized skill to offer if your going to do this. This way your business is always in demand.

Health care is an industry that does seem recession proof. CBS news done a report on recession proof jobs and suggested that aside from health care, law enforcement, education and court jobs are all great choices. The news everyday is showing more and more headlines of job loss, even in major, leading corporations.

Right now is when all of us should be taking stock of our situations, assessing our jobs, and developing a smart safety net for our careers. The BLS expects environmental careers, including ecologists, hydrologists, environmental chemists and others, to grow 25% over the next decade, much higher than the average for other occupations. And these careers should stay in demand for years to come. According to the 2009 Robert Half International Salary Guide, careers in business, IT, and law are among the fields expected to yield top careers in the coming year.

Between now and 2016, the employment rate in the field of information technology is expected to increase 29%, faster than the average growth of all occupations. As the world economy continues its steady decline, many students are gravitating toward those industries that are predicted to experience growth despite the current financial turmoil. Job growth occurred in ambulatory health care and in hospitals, adding 16,000 and 7,000 jobs, respectively, according to the BLS.

Unless you have been hiding under a rock somewhere, on mars, you do see that the US is having a major financial issue and ultimately, it will affect your wallet. Banking, medical, child care, insurance and financial jobs are suited best for the ecological crunch we are now experiencing. But, in tough financial times, like right now You are advised to discuss your specific requirements with an independent financial adviser. No matter what field you work in, you have the possibility of losing your job. And yes, I agree that the medical industry is a safe field during economic downturns, although not completely immune.

I believe that recession proof jobs are going to lead to recession proof industries that lean more towards the internet. If there a reason you do not have the time to train for a new career, there are jobs out there that do require minimal training.
