The first thing you need to deal with when you decide to move is the packaging supplies. When you go to a store and start to look at the options in front of you it is easy to get overwhelmed with everything that is available these days. Boxes in a variety of shapes and sizes need to be purchased, but of course you need to know how many to buy. Discussed below are some simple tips to get you through the moving process.
If you are moving large items like kitchen appliances and furniture, write down the dimensions of each item and take it with you so that you can be sure you are getting the right sized boxes for the. Never buy any box that is either to big, too small or the exact same size as the item. The right box will have about a one inch space on all sides after the item has been placed in it.
Also make sure you pick up enough packing supplies to stuff the extra space of the boxes, wrap delicate items, tape all of the boxes closed and to label what each box contains and what room it goes in. This makes unpacking much easier.
Electronic items should never be packed together. When your moving, things can get broken very easily so it is extremely important that you have packed everything correctly so that you minimize that risk.
All of these tops are very helpful when you are doing all of the moving by yourself. However, if you have chosen a moving company to do things for you than you don’t have to worry about any of these details. This can ease the stress of moving for a lot of people.
When the time comes to get everything packed and moved, your moving company will have all of the packaging supplies to get the job done right. They usually even offer the choice of having different types of items, like clothes, packaged in boxes together.
If you are planning to go to a new place or town, you will find that you need more packaging supplies. You also do not want to forget that you will need a few cardboard boxes to pack things into.

Cardboard boxes are best used as packaging boxes and are quite different from the corrugated ones which are extremely strong and hold any amount of weight and pressure. The cardboard boxes come in single, double and triple walls and needless to mention the triple wall cardboard boxes are the strongest of the entire lot and is used to move heavier items. Cardboard boxes are the main thing used in the world of packaging supplies.
An Eco-friendly way of packaging is the cardboard box. Not only are the boxes friendly to the environment but they are also cost effective, thus making the cardboard box the most ideal way to package. When considering shipping it is recommended that you use cardboard boxes as they are light and therefore do not add any extra cost. Adding a name, address and any other details that are needed to a cardboard box is also simple. When thinking of loading heavier good care must be taken.
If you are hiring professional help for packing and unpacking, they will come with all the packaging supplies and also the required number of boxes for relocation.
When one hears of cardboard boxes, they immediately are reminded of the ones that are available in the food stores or other stores. These are indeed flimsy and will not hold a lot of items, but there are cardboards of superior quality that are available with the professional packers and movers which will hold many items of a heavier weight.
When transferring goods over long distances it is important to opt for high quality cardboard boxes, as these will not get damaged even under extreme pressure. Cardboard boxes are perfect when carrying perishable items and non-perishable items. Big companies are also using cardboard boxes to deliver their electronic goods in. Placing tape around the cardboard box is advised, even though the cardboard box is of a strong quality. It is always better to have the unnecessary worry of the safety of the contents of your package.

There is a lot of innovation going on in the packaging materials industry, and there is bound to be much more coming our way. If you look back and see where this innovation actually started, you will realize that it did with a few specialist companies coming up to manufacture only different packaging solutions. Earlier, it was just the plain old cardboard boxes and most of them were either made in-house or purchased from a standard supplier.
Over the last ten years or so, consumers have become more aware of quality of packaging as people expect a decent shelf life on more or less all the products they buy. Possibly the biggest innovation in terms of packaging foodstuffs was when Tetra Packs broke into mainstream packaging. Tetra Packs increased the shelf life of perishable foods like milk by a huge amount, making consumers feel more inclined to buy in bulk, which is of course, a win-win situation for both customer and company.
But this revolution is not just restricted to the packaging materials used in perishables. Take for instance Bubble wrap. All of us would remember popping the bubbles as children, and bubble wrap has become stronger and is making a comeback today. With a tremendous rise in the number of consumer electronics being sold worldwide, there is a need for packaging which can protect the products during transportation.
The other kind of packaging material that has become so common in the recent times is the clear stretch wrap. With hygiene becoming of paramount importance, people no longer want to take a chance, and they trust the quality seal of clear stretch wrap.
If you observe, the usage of packaging materials has permeated all the levels down to the customer himself. When we are shifting home or shipping something, we also use bubble wraps and clear stretch wraps today!

Packaging is a huge industry today, and studies show that it will only become much bigger with time! Over the next few years, tremendous emphasis will be laid on this field, as the expectations of the market are changing in that angle.
Whether your company manufactures a small product, or a very large one, whether you are an affiliate or reseller, you cant ignore the importance of good packaging as it is the way a product is packaged that creates the first impression in the minds of the customer. Most people will be able to remember a time when they have bought a product based on the packaging and on the flip-side, many products fail to make the cut because the way they are packaged does not do the product any justice at all.
If you have a branding company or department to sort out what image your product is going to have when released, then they will probably make some recommendations as to what the best packaging is, whereas otherwise you would probably have simply decided on a whim or based on what someone else uses, but the chances are that there will be something much better suited to your product. Also, now that most companies have third party vendor companies that take care of packaging and deliveries, changed decisions regarding packaging become a much easier process because all it takes is a phone call rather than a complete overhaul of your packaging process.
Most products nowadays have packaging that has been created solely for that particular product, some examples of this are packets with brand stickers or logos as well as multiple layers of packaging for fragile products. With the rise in electronic products we have seen a steady increase in the use of bubble wrap as most of them are fairly delicate. Also, greener packaging is set to boom in the next few years because of the environmental hazards traditional packaging materials present, and so there is no ignoring the impact that the right choice of packaging has.
Make sure you consider all these factors before choosing your packaging materials.

During the past decade or so, the uptake of business deliveries has been massive. As more and more industries run Just in Time delivery systems as well as more and more industries moving to Internet based business models, the delivery industry has exploded in size. This has had knock on effects for the packaging industry.
Not only has the demand for packaging increased year on year since the early to mid 90s, but during the current recession people are less keen to shop on the high street and have begun looking for bargains online, meaning that the demand for packaging is still increasing.
There are many suppliers available, but it does depend upon what you intend to transport as to what you best packaging solution will be. Some suppliers will not insist on minimum order values, while others will need you to order 50 or 100 of each box type as a minimum. If you are a smaller business, delivering a variety of products in small volumes then you will prefer to use a supplier that doesn’t limit your minimum order size. It is of course important to minimise your outlay on packaging as it will all reflect in your bottom line.
Cardboard box providers can also print boxes to your specification so you can personalise your deliveries to improve your profile. This can be a good additional form of advertising not only for your existing customers, but for everyone that will come into contact with your packages whilst they are being delivered and indeed for the rest of the boxes life.
The cost of your packaging will of course depend on what type of box you need, whether you need a single or double walled box will be a determining factor in the price. Double walled boxes are obviously a little more expensive than the single walled, but they are more suitable for containing heavier items. You should also consider what inner packaging you will use to prevent any damage during transportation such as bubble wrap or loose fill.

If you have ever moved house, needed a storing solution or have had the need to ship goods from place to place, then you will have had a need for suitable packaging. Cardboard boxes have two basic material constructions, single wall and double wall.
Single wall boxes are constructed with one layer of card and a layer of fluting. They are ideal for transporting objects that may be large, but do not weigh a great deal.
Double wall is one layer of cardboard, one of fluting, followed by another layer of cardboard, then another of fluting, finishing with another layer of cardboard. They’re ideal for heavier, bulky items for moving, storage or posting/courier transportation. They provide extra durability and protection for heavier more fragile items.
Double walled boxes will support more weight, and consequently last longer than single walled boxes, but they do cost more initially.
If you need to package light items then after choosing a suitable box, they can then be supported inside that box using loosefill or as they’re more commonly known wotsits (but they dont taste nearly as good and are white!) Loosefill is ideal for protection of items that do not weight too much, heavier items however should be wrapped with bubble wrap before boxing and loosefilling.
Bubble wrap is an excellent way of padding you items against damage, but it also provides protection to items surrounding the heavy, bubble wrapped item. It is cheap to buy and so is a cost effective way to ensure no damage is done.
Another method of padding out boxes to ensure the items within dont get damaged is corrugated paper (or wavy paper or protection paper.) This might be more appropriate depending on the dimensions of the item to be packed, but it is just as cost effective as bubble wrap and comes in a variety of widths to suit any packing need.
The main thing to remember is that whatever item you need to pack, there is a packaging solution suited to it. As long as the correct packaging method is implemented for your items, they should arrive at their destination completely unharmed, regardless of how heavy or fragile they might be.

Usually when transporting objects, particularly fragile ones, it is important to package them protectively. It is not uncommon for packages to be roughly handled, or accidentally dropped, and so cushioning the package is essential to minimise damage.
A reliable way of cushioning an object so that it doesnt get harmed in the transportation process is to use bubble wrap. Bubble wrap has been used for this for just over fifty years and is still going strong.
Bubble wrap is basically, a sheet of translucent plastic that has bubbles of air evenly spaced out across its surface to provide the padding for the item wrapped within it.
Bubble wrap was created in 1957 by two engineers by the names of Marc Chavannes and Alfred Fielding and the term bubble wrap was (and technically still is) a trademark of the Sealed Air Corporation which was founded by the same partners and should really only be used for products of that company
Sometimes more than one layer of bubble wrap is more effective than bigger bubbles, but its not always necessary. If something isnt likely to break completely but has a delicate finish on the surface, then a single layer of bubble wrap will suffice to ensure that the item does not get scratched.
The bubbles can be as small as a quarter of an inch in diameter, and then can usually go up to an inch in diameter but, depending on where you buy it from, you can usually make a customised size request. The reason for this is of course, the bigger the air bubbles, the greater protection the bubble wrap provides.
Bubble wrap comes in different materials because some delicate objects may require wrapping in a specific material to avoid damage, such as sensitive electronic parts that would be damaged by the static of the standard bubble wrap material.
Of course, bubble wrap is also used as a form of amusement as it makes a clearly audible and somewhat satisfying popping sound when the bubbles are squeezed and punctured. Many people use it as a stress relief tool and there are even websites that contain virtual bubble wrap that you can pop by clicking on the bubbles. Some would say pointless, others would say brilliant, and both could well be the case.
